TRADITIONAL CULTIVATION OF ALENTEJO

Without haste, at Herdade Aldeia de Cima we cultivate and care for ancient olive trees, true testimonies to the resilience of Portuguese varieties, pruned year after year. At Horta dos Fontanários lies a genuine legacy of time: a 1.25-hectare millenary olive grove, with 85 olive trees and two wild olive trees.

At Monte do Bugano, 5 hectares of centenary Galega olive groves extend alongside a more recent planting of around 34 hectares of traditional olive groves, where local varieties are cultivated — Cobrançosa, Cordovil and Galega.
