The Alentejo is a region where time slows down and tradition remains alive, bringing together almost every type of soil, sustained by the montado forest and a cultural heritage preserved over generations.
Herdade Aldeia de Cima is an estate with 3,500 hectares of montado, located in the Serra do Mendro, where no two parts are the same. It is in this fresh land, with exceptional biodiversity, that wine, medronho spirit, olive oil, honey and cork are produced.
Serra do Mendro marks the transition between the Upper and Lower Alentejo. With its rugged morphology, showscases na unusual landscape and a unique schist formation, reaching its highest point at 424 metres above sea level.
With the aim of expressing the regional typicity of this warm land that has been producing wine for over 2,000 years, Aldeia de Cima wines—classic and elegant in style—reveal the complexity of heterogeneous soils and the character of indigenous grape varieties alongside varieties well adapted to the region. At Herdade Aldeia de Cima, we promote healthy and sustainable viticulture, with vineyards certified under organic production, and harvesting is still carried out by hand, guided by the dedication and knowledge of the local community.
These are wines that preserve the history of the place, released to the market two years after the harvest.
