At Herdade da Aldeia de Cima, a land where no two plots are the same, life follows its own rhythm throughout the year, centred on the production of wine, medronho, olive oil, honey and cork. A flock of over 2,000 White Merino sheep plays an active role in maintaining soil health and supporting the regeneration of cork oak trees, ensuring the estate’s natural balance.
Serra do Mendro marks the transition between the Upper and Lower Alentejo. With its rugged morphology, showscases na unusual landscape and a unique schist formation, reaching its highest point at 424 metres above sea level.
With the aim of expressing the regional typicity of this warm land that has been producing wine for over 2,000 years, Aldeia de Cima wines—classic and elegant in style—reveal the complexity of heterogeneous soils and the character of indigenous grape varieties alongside varieties well adapted to the region. At Herdade Aldeia de Cima, we promote healthy and sustainable viticulture, with vineyards certified under organic production, and harvesting is still carried out by hand, guided by the dedication and knowledge of the local community.
These are wines that preserve the history of the place, released to the market two years after the harvest.
