From 22 August to 30 September, 2017. The 2016/2017 winemaking year dispels any doubts about the climate change that we are currently experiencing, given its atypical characteristics – as an extremely hot and dry year – which speak for themselves.

The blurring between the seasons of the year and the speed of evolution of the climatic conditions resulted in a significant advance of the vegetative cycle of the vine. The prolonged absence of rainfall and the occurrence of very high temperatures out of season, led to elevated hydric and thermal stress that, at an early stage of the vegetative cycle, conditioned the normal evolution of the vine.

As a result of these factors the harvest was one of the earliest in living memory. In sanitary terms, the low humidity enabled us to harvest extremely healthy grapes, rich in sugar and phenolic compounds. The harvest provided high quality concentrated musts, while respecting the initial production forecast of low volumes.
